2025 - The Year of the Snake!

Recently in the Pōhutukawa room, we have been busy celebrating and embracing Chinese New Year. The tamariki loved learning more about Chinese New Year and how it is celebrated. They were able to be creative as the designed their very own lanterns and created firework pictures with crafts. Before getting creative we watched some videos at group time, this allowed the tamariki to see how the Chinese culture celebrate their New Year. They could also see the bright lanterns and fireworks on display in these videos and then they were able to create their own. The tamariki also enjoyed trying dumplings which the Mānuka room made.

This was great fun for all involved and the tamariki and kaiako really enjoyed taking part in this special celebration.
