Our Recipe for success
RELATIONSHIPS
Whakaute
Tamariki, whānau, staff and management all have time for rich interactions to build respectful and trusting relationships with one another.
environment
Taiao
Tamariki experience an environment that is calm, respectful and responsive allowing a natural and play based approach to learning that integrates our growing knowledge of kaitiakitanga.
communication
Kōrero
Tamariki, whānau, staff and the community, all share knowledge and work with each other to achieve the best outcomes for our children.
INSPIRE
Whakaohooho
Tamariki have the freedom to explore and discover. Their sense of wonder and curiosity is supported.
PLAY
Tākarokaro
Tamariki feel empowered to lead their play and are encouraged to explore their interests.
EMPATHY
Aroha/Whānau
Tamariki practice how to be caring, compassionate and kind by growing understanding of their own emotions and those of others.
OUR PROGRAMME
Our curriculum is made up of multiple programmes that guide the way we help children learn.
Primary Caregiving
Throughout our centre we implement a primary caregiving system where each child has their own special teacher.
By building strong relationships with one teacher it makes settling easier and allows for responsive and individualised care and learning.
LOCAL CURRICULUM
Our local curriculum includes
teaching and learning about local history, appreciating the surrounding natural landscape, and encouraging tamariki to be proud locals who are active members of their community.
SET FOR SCHOOL
We have a strong Set for School programme for our eldest children that takes place daily where we focus on development of literacy, numeracy and self help skills will be beneficial for when they transition to Primary School.
