20 Hours ECE

The Cat’s Pyjamas Preschool & Nursery is pleased to be offering parents up to 20 hours early childhood education (ECE) per week for all 3 and 4 year olds.

• All 3 and 4 year olds at our centre are entitled to 20 Hours ECE for up to 6 hours a day and 20 hours per week.
• 20 Hours ECE hours cannot be carried over to another week.
• 20 Hours ECE starts when a child turns 3 and finishes when they turn 5.
• If your child does not start school when they turn 5, they can continue to receive 20 Hours ECE for up to 28 calendar days after their 5th birthday.
• 20 Hours ECE bookings must be for a minimum 2 sessions per week, with each session being for 5 hours.

Getting 20 Hours ECE

To be eligible for 20 Hours ECE you are required to complete the 20 Hours ECE details box on your child's enrolment form, stating:

• How many hours of 20 Hours ECE your child receives each day of the week at each ECE service they attend.
• The hours of 20 Hours ECE we can claim from the MOE
• That your child does not get more than the maximum hours allowed across all the ECE services your child attends.

Your child can receive 20 Hours ECE at more than one ECE service, provided the total does not exceed 20 hours per week. You will need to write on your childs enrolment form how many hours of 20 Hours ECE your child will receive at each ECE service.

If your child attends the centre for more than 6 hours per day, a fee of $6.00 for any sequential hour will be charged.
