The unique structure of complimentary Nursery, Preschool & Prep School facilities is designed to optimise learning opportunities. Our learning programmes are designed to meet the needs of every child at each stage of their development and to actively support and encourage robust learning dispositions.

The Cat’s Pyjamas Nursery (3 months - 2 years)

The Cat’s Pyjamas Nursery welcomes children from 3 months to 2 years of age.

Babies have very specific needs which are quite special; they need to feel loved and secure. They love to visualise and explore the world around them in a safe and loving environment enabling growth and development.

  • The atmosphere is warm and happy with stimulating activities to develop creativity, mobility and early language and math skills.
  • There is a high staff ratio enabling each child to enjoy individual care.
  • Each child has a ‘Special Teacher’ who will establish a trusting, responsive and intimate relationship with them.
  • Seperate sleep area.
  • Separate inside and outside area to ensure children in the Nursery have the freedom to explore and interact with teachers and the environment with no interference from older children.
  • It is a place where parents are assured their children will be safe and secure.
  • Partnership between parents and staff.
  • Each child in the Nursery has a daily record for parents to take home. This covers daily activities, special moments, sleeps, food and nappy changing times.
  • The programme for the Nursery focuses on five main areas: creativity, music and movement, stories and reading, environment adventure and pre-maths and construction.

The Cat’s Pyjamas Preschool (2-3½ years)

At this stage in a childs life independence has started, this will be extended upon. Self help skills are encouraged and supported. Children will learn about routines which will foster language skills and the ability to concentrate will be extended.

The Cat’s Pyjamas Preschool learning programme is fun! It is integrated and comprehensive, with a focus on the development of children from 2 to 3½ years.

Preschoolers love to get physical. This is an age when children learn significantly through play and physical activity. Our programme for preschoolers is centred around a philosophy of ‘play with purpose’.

  • Situated next to the Prep School, the Preschool offers spacious, modern facilities that are bright, open and spacious with plenty of exciting equipment and a wealth of resources to keep busy preschoolers engrossed.
  • Separate sleep area.
  • Many and varied activities, experiences and challenges are made available to this group, such as dressing up, painting, working with play dough, building blocks etc
  • Children are able to explore, investigate and learn at their own pace in a safe, secure environment.
  • Each child in the Preschool will have a ‘Special Teacher’, and each child is given an individual programme to ensure he or she is encouraged to achieve various milestones.

The Cat’s Pyjamas Prep School (3½ - 5 years)

This is the age where your child will develop most of their learning; and our preschool learning programme is designed to encourage children to new levels, preparing them for the next important stage in their life which is primary school.

The Cat’s Pyjamas Prep School provides education and care for children aged 3½ to 5 years of age. The emphasis is on learning activities that are lots of fun and at the same time build character, self-confidence and self-esteem.

All children learn in unique ways and develop at different ages. In this group we again design individual programmes to help children learn in the way that is best for them, at their own pace and in their own time.

  • Separate spacious inside and outside areas. Facilities are well equipped, exciting and stimulating both indoors and out, for these busy, curious young people.
  • Fun, challenging varied educational programme, based around the child’s interests.
  • Children are encouraged to participate in group art, language, drama, music and movement, cognitive development, fine gross motor development, stories, puzzles and games.
  • Extended programme for the 4 to 5 year age group which includes pre-writing, pre-reading, pre-maths, computer skills, self help skills to provide a sound preparation for their transition to school.
  • Each child in the Prep School has a special teacher and is given an individual programme to ensure that he or she is encouraged to achieve various milestones.
